Spiritual Healing: We provide spiritual healing through our daily Bible Study. The Bible study includes a survey of the Word of God, testimonies, and prayer. Prayer meetings are also organized for the residents. Morning and evening devotions provide additional opportunities for spiritual upliftment. We also organize monthly prayer and fasting, including revival services for the residents.
Alpha Course is a significant spiritual and life transformation program run at the facility. It is an effective form of non-denominational evangelism. The course takes participants on a journey of faith over multiple weeks. Each session covers a critical element of the gospel in an easy-to-follow way and leaves space for people to explore their questions about life, faith, and God.
Psycho-social counseling for individuals and groups – Residents participate in counseling designed to reduce local risk factors and increase protective factors.
Celebrate Recovery and Self-esteem sessions.
Staff Training – The International Leadership Institute (ILI) has supported us in the past by providing training for staff. We constantly seek opportunities for our staff members. Many of our staff members are graduates of these programs and have been in recovery for many years.
Alcoholics Anonymous – In weekly meetings, the group conscribes the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous as it relates to drug addiction.
Recreation – Many activities are arranged to keep our residents functional and mentally fit. These include sports, recreational and intellectual exchanges.
Weekly outreach activities – Opportunities are created for clients to go into the areas where drug users congregate and speak to them about the dangers of using drugs. Clients who have been in the program for over three months and have achieved a significant level of sobriety are expected to lead these opportunities.
Family Reunion – This is a crucial part of our program. We have seen that residents are less likely to relapse with family support. However, families need to be given the opportunity and the space to heal because they have suffered emotionally with the resident. We provide opportunities for family reunions, amends, and reconciliation. One of our recovery steps gives residents a chance to return home, reunite with their parents, make amends, ask for forgiveness, and reconciliation takes place. It happens when a resident has spent at least three months at the care facility of the New Life Recovery Center, which operates one of the best faith-based rehabilitation centers in the country.
